Quilting

When I came home from Canada last year there was a gigantic hole in my life left by the passing of a really fantastic woman. I love my life here in Melbourne but no matter how hard I tried, hubby and kitty just didn't fill that emptiness.

Hubby always likes to make me happy and when I saw the Janome in Costco he said, 'just get it'. Instead we bought a soft blanket the cat kneads to bits. The next time we went to Costco I visited the Janome display and again he said, 'just get it'. Instead I bought some awesome yoga pants. I never actually do yoga. The third time we went to Costco we browsed the aisles and again he said, 'just get it'. BUT I COULDN'T FIND IT!!! Then I found it, and still I didn't get it. Instead I got a pair of jeans. The fourth time we went to Costco he said, 'Just. Get. It.' So it did. I also got a shirt.

Thus began the obsession with sewing, and more to the point, quilting. It's in my blood, so to speak. My grandmother was a quilter. And I will be too.
